Costa Rica Casinos for UK Players 2026: What the “Licence” Really Means

Costa Rica casinos are online casinos run from Costa Rica or governed by its law, and Costa Rica issues no online gambling licence to back them. If you’re comparing them with the best casino sites UK players use, that missing licence is the whole story.

Quick Overview
LetsJackpot, USpin and Casino Peaches are the best Costa Rica casinos for UK players. Costa Rica issues no online gambling licence, so what separates them is how much each one publishes about who runs it. LetsJackpot leads because it names its Costa Rica operator and shows a licence you can check. USpin has the biggest welcome, up to £5,000 plus 350 free spins over six deposits, and Casino Peaches offers 250% up to £1,000 from £20.

We read each footer, each set of terms, each lobby and each promotions page in October 2026. Offers are shown in pounds, as these operators publish the same numbers in pounds, euros and dollars.

USpin, Casino Peaches and LetsJackpot also share a set of terms, with the same Costa Rica governing-law clause and the same bonus rules. That’s a shared template, and it doesn’t prove common ownership.

LetsJackpot: A San José operator with a reload most days

letsjackpot logo banner

LetsJackpot leads this list because it tells you the most about itself. The footer names Prime Web Ops SRL, a company in Montelimar, San José, Costa Rica, and its terms send any dispute to Costa Rica’s courts.

It also shows Anjouan licence ALSI-202408038-FI2, and the seal opens a validator page that reads VALID. The register has it valid to 24 August 2027 for letsjackpot.com, while the site now runs on letsjackpot1.com. Payments go through Baltech Ltd in Nicosia, Cyprus.

Inside, the lobby counts 6,551 slots from studios such as Play’n GO, Playson and Novomatic, with Mega Jackpots, crash games, scratch cards and a BetBy sportsbook alongside.

The welcome is 250% up to £1,000 over three deposits: 100% to £250, 50% to £250, then 100% to £500, from £20 with 40x wagering.

After that there’s a reload most days of the week. Monday brings 25% up to £250, Tuesday 30% up to £200, Wednesday 40% up to £100 and Friday 50% up to £100. Thursday is cashback day, worth up to £1,000.

USpin: Costa Rican terms and the biggest welcome of the three

uspin logo banner

USpin wears its Costa Rica link in the footer, where the Costa Rican coat of arms sits, and in clause 23.1 of its terms, which puts any dispute under Costa Rican law. It doesn’t publish a licence number or an operating company, so it ranks behind LetsJackpot.

But what it does have is size. The lobby counts 7,938 slots and 492 instant-win games, the most of the three, plus crash, table games and a sportsbook with its own 100% up to £350 welcome.

The casino welcome is the biggest here too, worth up to £5,000 plus 350 free spins over six deposits. The first stage is 100% up to £1,000 plus 100 free spins from £20, with 40x wagering inside 14 days.

Regulars get daily cashback, casino rakeback, Mega Jackpots and happy-hour boosts on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. One clause is worth knowing: clause 22 says client funds aren’t protected if the company becomes insolvent.

Casino Peaches: Costa Rican terms and a reload five days a week

casino peaches logo banner

Casino Peaches runs on the same Costa Rican terms as USpin, so disputes go to Costa Rica’s courts under clause 23.1.

It’s the quietest of the three about who runs it, with no licence line or company name in the footer or the terms, which is why it sits third. Use live chat for support, as the casinopeaches.com mail domain had no mail server on record when we checked.

But the lobby is still a good one. It counts 7,609 slots, more than LetsJackpot, and adds a poker section next to crash, instant-win and table games, plus a sportsbook.

The welcome matches LetsJackpot’s at 250% up to £1,000, with the same three-deposit split, £20 minimum and 40x wagering.

Then the week fills up: 35% up to £200 on Mondays, 40% up to £100 on Wednesdays, 50 free spins plus 50% up to £200 on Fridays and 20% up to £200 at the weekend.

Thursday adds cashback of up to £1,000, on top of 10% cashback each week. Balances are held in euros, with no sterling wallet.

Nine of these eleven hold a Curaçao Gaming Authority licence whose certificate page read Active in October 2026, opened from the operator’s own footer seal. Vave and CashLounge publish less about their licensing, and their reviews below say what we found.

For a wider field, our ranking of top casinos not on GamStop covers more sites.

Offers and lobbies checked in October 2026 against each operator’s own promotions page. Figures are shown in pounds, as the operators publish the same numbers in pounds, euros and dollars.

Six of the eleven share two companies. Cosmobet, Rolletto, Velobet and GoldenBet all run under Santeda International B.V., and MyStake and DonBet both run under GTW B.V. So two accounts there aren’t two separate licensees.

Cosmobet: Four matched deposits and an 8,836-game lobby

cosmobet logo banner

Where the Costa Rica sites rely on governing-law clauses, Cosmobet shows a licence you can open. The footer names Santeda International B.V. and Curaçao licence OGL/2024/1798/1048, and the seal on cosmobet.com opens an Active certificate for that domain, granted on 14 August 2024.

It’s broad, too. The lobby counter reads 8,836 games, and the sportsbook covers racing, esports, virtuals and predictions, with slot tournaments, live casino and mini games alongside.

The welcome spreads across four deposits, each matched 100% up to £500 with up to 250 free spins, so up to £2,000 plus 1,000 spins in all. Wagering is 30x deposit plus bonus inside 7 days, on slots only, with a £5 maximum bet.

MyStake: Originals, mini games and a 30-day window

mystake logo banner

MyStake states its licensee in full: GTW B.V., company 165433, on Curaçao licence OGL/2024/250/0115, with CYGTW LTD in Limassol as payment agent. The certificate for mystake.bet reads Active, granted on 1 July 2024.

What sets it apart is its own content. Beside the slots it runs MyStake Originals and a full mini-games section, plus Exclusive Games and Drops & Wins categories, a VIP Club, regular tournaments and a sportsbook with racing, esports and virtuals.

The welcome is 300% up to £1,500 over three deposits from £20, and you get 30 days to clear 30x deposit plus bonus, which is generous next to Cosmobet’s seven. Slots count towards it, with a £5 maximum bet.

Vave: A crypto casino with Copy Bets and two VIP schemes

vave logo banner

Vave is a crypto-first site, and it doesn’t publish a licence number or an operating company in its footer or terms. So on paperwork it sits closer to the Costa Rica sites than to the Curaçao ones.

But on features it’s one of the busiest here. You can buy crypto on the site, copy other players’ slips with Copy Bets, spin a Fortune wheel and climb the leaderboards, and there are separate VIP Casino and VIP Sport schemes.

The welcome runs in crypto across four deposits: 150% up to 1.5 BTC plus 100 free spins first, then 100% up to 1 BTC, 50% up to 1 BTC and 25% up to 0.5 BTC, each from 20 USDT.

The offer page doesn’t publish the wagering multiplier. The maximum bet with a bonus active is 5 USDT, and winnings from a deposit bonus are capped at 10,000 USDT.

Rolletto: A clean licence line and a £250,000 leaderboard

rolletto logo banner

The footer at Rolletto is what a licence line should look like: the company, its number, the regulator and the licence in one sentence. It names Santeda International B.V. on Curaçao licence OGL/2024/1798/1048, and the CGA seal just above it opens an Active certificate.

It’s also a strong pick for sports fans. A £250,000 sports leaderboard runs from 3 September 2026 to 31 January 2027, accumulators earn a free bet of up to 50%, and crypto deposits come with free spins.

The welcome adds up to £5,500 over three deposits from £20, plus 200 free spins: 50 on the first deposit, then 30 a day for five consecutive logins. Wagering is 40x deposit plus bonus on the first two stages and 30x on the third.

The window is a short 5 days, so it suits players who already know they’ll play through it quickly.

Jack: Wager-free spins and its own provably fair games

jack casino logo banner

Jack runs under Data Link Digital B.V., company 164124, on Curaçao licence OGL/2024/1562/1139, and the certificate for jack10.com reads Active. DATALINK TECH LIMITED in Limassol, Cyprus, acts as payment agent.

The welcome is simple: 100 wager-free spins on a first deposit of £50, with winnings capped at £100. There’s nothing to clear before you withdraw.

It’s built for crypto players. The site lists 9,000+ games, its own provably fair Plinko, Dice and Mines, 17+ cryptocurrencies, wager-free rakeback, a VIP Club and tournaments, which makes it a natural fit for readers comparing crypto casinos.

Freshbet: The one licence the register calls indefinite

freshbet logo banner

Freshbet runs under Ryker B.V., company 154186, on licence OGL/2024/1800/1049, and the seal on freshbet.com opens an Active certificate granted on 14 August 2024.

It’s also the only licensee here the CGA’s register lists as Indefinite rather than “Assessment in progress”.

And regulars are well looked after. There’s rakeback, a VIP Club, a 10% loyalty bonus, a weekly casino tournament and up to 75% cashback on top-league football bets.

The welcome splits across three deposits: 100% up to £500, then 50% up to £500, then 100% up to £500, so up to £1,500 in all, from a £20 minimum.

Each stage carries 30x deposit plus bonus inside 30 days, on slots only, with a £5 maximum bet. Activation is manual, and a stage you skip can’t be claimed later.

Cloudbet: Cash rewards instead of a bonus balance

cloudbet logo banner

Cloudbet is licensed to Halcyon Super Holdings B.V. in Willemstad, on Curaçao licence OGL/2024/328/0599, with Solas Technologies in Limassol handling some payments. The certificate for cloudbet.com reads Active.

It skips the deposit match altogether. The welcome package pays up to 2,500 USDT over your first 30 days through 10% rakeback on the house edge, daily casino cash drops and weekly sports cash drops.

Cloudbet’s own page put that at about £1,890, and the pound figure moves with the exchange rate.

Each reward unlocks at midnight UTC and is forfeited if you don’t claim it within 24 hours. There’s no wagering on the rewards themselves, though your deposits need a 100% playthrough before you can cash out.

And its lobby has its own Cloudbet Originals, jackpot slots and Drops & Wins games, plus a VIP Club for bigger players.

Velobet: A 9,272-game lobby and a £10 way in

Velobet is the third Santeda brand on this list, on the same OGL/2024/1798/1048 licence, and the seal on velobet.com opens its own Active certificate, granted on 14 August 2024.

Its lobby counter reads 9,272 games, one of the biggest on this page. Every crypto deposit comes with a gift, and the four-week Sports Marathon leaderboard pays out every second Friday.

The first deposit starts at just £10: 150% on deposits from £10 to £500, or 100% from £500 to £1,000, plus 300 free spins. The second and third deposits add 100% and 80%, each up to £500.

The spins land 30 straight away, then 30 a day for nine days when you log in. Wagering is 30x deposit plus bonus inside 30 days, with a £5 maximum bet.

DonBet runs on the same GTW B.V. licence as MyStake, OGL/2024/250/0115, and the footer seal on donbet.win opens a certificate for that exact domain.

It has one of the deepest slot shelves here, at 8,534 slots, with racing, esports and virtual sports on the betting side. Loyal players get prize wheels, a rewards marketplace, a Triple Casino Race and 10% loyalty cashback.

Its first deposit of £20 or more gets 150% up to £750 plus 50 free spins, though deposits above £500 only count as £500.

Wagering is 30x deposit, bonus and spin winnings inside 30 days, on slots only with a £5 maximum bet, and you switch the bonus on by hand before you play.

GoldenBet is the fourth Santeda brand here. The footer names Santeda International B.V., company 151296, and licence OGL/2024/1798/1048 issued on 14 August 2024, which matches the certificate’s grant date exactly.

It doesn’t run a deposit match. Instead it gives 200 wager-free spins across Thursday and Friday: deposit £50 or more on each day and 100 spins land on Hot Chilli Bells. Spin winnings carry no wagering, and you can withdraw up to £1,000 from them.

And on top of that there’s unlimited 10% cashback, requested through support, a slot race that pays the top 50 every three days and 20% cashback on losing sports bets.

CashLounge: VIP lounges and two routes into the welcome

cash lounge logo bannerCashLounge holds an Anjouan licence rather than a Curaçao one: ALSI-202412042-FI2, held by Buscarar SRL, with a register entry valid to 17 December 2026. The footer doesn’t show it, and the Anjouan register lists cashlounge.com among its domains rather than cashlounge.pro, which is why it sits last.

The site itself is built around rewards. There’s a VIP loyalty programme with private Exclusive Lounges, weekly cashback, a daily prize wheel and regular tournaments, plus a sport lounge with its own welcome.

The casino welcome runs over three deposits on one of two routes. Diamond pays 200%, 175% and 150%, up to £3,000 plus 350 free spins, from £75. Platinum pays 125%, 150% and 175% to the same caps, from £20.

Wagering is 35x deposit plus bonus, and 40x on free spin winnings. Bonus winnings are capped at 10x the bonus on Diamond and 5x on Platinum.

Is There a Costa Rica Gambling Licence?

USpin.me Casino licence terms
USpin's licence terms (Source: USpin)

No. Costa Rica has no regulator issuing online casino licences, and its 1922 gaming law still prohibits games of chance outright. What operators get is a company registration, a municipal business permit and a tax registration.

That tax is the source of the “data processing” myth. Ley 9050 of 2012 charges an annual tax on companies “dedicated to receiving and processing data that generates electronic bets”, set by headcount. It’s a tax on the activity. It isn’t a licence to carry it out.

There’s one more registration you’ll see cited. Operators register with SUGEF, the financial supervisor, for anti-money-laundering purposes, and SUGEF itself says that registration is not an authorisation to operate.

So when a site says it’s licensed in Costa Rica, here’s what’s missing:

  • A regulator: nobody in Costa Rica supervises online casinos
  • A public register: there’s no list where you can look a site up
  • A complaints body: the state lottery’s legal head told La Nación in August 2025 that it’s impossible to help players of these sites who don’t get paid

Costa Rica vs Curaçao vs Anjouan vs MGA

Jurisdiction Regulator and register Player complaints
Costa Rica No gambling regulator and no licence register. A company registration and tax registration only No complaints body
Curaçao (CGA) Curaçao Gaming Authority. A certificate page per licensed domain, plus a published licence register Takes complaints as evidence, but does not settle individual disputes
Anjouan Licences issued under the Computer Gaming Licensing Act 2005. Public register and a domain validator Operator must offer an independent ADR service
Malta (MGA) Malta Gaming Authority. Public licensee register Formal complaint form against licensees

That’s a ladder, not a cliff. Anjouan at least gives you a register with an expiry date, which is more than Costa Rica offers. And Curaçao goes a step further, with a certificate page for every licensed domain.

Curaçao’s regulator says it doesn’t handle individual complaints, though it takes them as evidence against an operator. The best offshore casinos breakdown compares the three main licences in more depth, and our Curaçao casinos list covers the CGA alone.

Is Costa Rica Changing Its Rules? (2026 Update)

Two bills have tried, and neither has passed. Expediente 25.057, backed by the state lottery (JPS), was rejected by the Assembly’s security committee 5 votes to 3 in January 2026. It goes to the full chamber with a negative report.

Expediente 25.600 was filed on 21 May 2026. It would make the JPS the “sole regulator” of games of chance, with powers to issue licences, prison terms of two to six years for illegal operators and a geoblocking duty.

As of October 2026 it sits in the social affairs committee with no votes recorded. And its article 2 excludes “casino activity” from its scope, so even if it passes, it’s not yet clear it would cover online casinos.

How to Check a Casino’s Licence

screenshot of cosmobet cga certificate
Cosmobet's CGA certificate (Source: Cosmobet)

A real licence takes about a minute to check, and you don’t need to trust anyone’s word for it. Here’s the order we work in:

  1. Find the licence line in the footer. You want a company name, a company number, a regulator and a licence number in one sentence. Rolletto’s has all four. USpin’s and Casino Peaches’ have none
  2. Click the seal. A real one opens a page on the regulator’s own domain: cert.cga.cw for Curaçao, the Anjouan validator for Anjouan. USpin’s coat of arms opens nothing
  3. Match the domain. The certificate should name the site you’re on. Cosmobet’s names cosmobet.com, the domain you land on
  4. Read the status and the dates. Every Curaçao certificate above reads Active. The CGA’s own register lists four of the five licensees as “Assessment in progress” with lapsed expiry dates, and says no rights can be derived from that list. We take the certificate as current
  5. Read the governing-law clause. “Laws of Costa Rica” is a choice of courts, not a licence

Why UK Players Choose Offshore Casinos

The draw is the same as for any casinos not on GamBan: bigger welcome packages, crypto cashiers and none of the UKGC’s slot stake limits. Nine of the eleven alternatives above unlock their welcome offer with a first deposit of £20 or less.

Playing at one isn’t an offence, as UK gambling law regulates operators rather than players. But what you give up is real. A UKGC licensee has to offer an approved dispute body, and none of these sites is part of GamStop.

Playing at one isn’t an offence in the UK, because UK gambling law regulates operators rather than players. But a Costa Rica casino holds no UK licence and no gambling licence from Costa Rica either, so you have no regulator to turn to if something goes wrong.

No. Costa Rica doesn’t issue an online gambling license. Operators register a company, pay a headcount tax under Ley 9050 and get a municipal permit. The financial supervisor’s anti-money-laundering registration is explicitly not an authorisation to operate, and there’s no register of licensed sites.

Not in any way a regulator guarantees. USpin and Casino Peaches both say in their terms that client funds “are not protected in the event of insolvency”, and neither names the company behind it. LetsJackpot is the exception, naming a Costa Rica company and showing an Anjouan licence you can check.

Only to the casino itself. Costa Rica has no gambling complaints body, and the state lottery has said publicly it can’t help players of these sites. So keep screenshots of your balance and your chats before you ask for a withdrawal.

Curaçao, by a clear margin. The CGA issues a licence per operator with a certificate page you can open from the footer seal, and it can act against an operator when complaints point to a breach. Costa Rica offers none of that. But Curaçao still won’t settle your dispute for you.

Find the licence line in the footer, then click the seal. A real seal opens a page on the regulator’s domain naming the company, the licence number and the site you’re on. If the seal links nowhere, or the domain doesn’t match, treat the licence as unproven.

Yes. Costa Rica allows land-based casinos, and Ley 9050 limits them to hotels rated four stars or above, under a permit from the Ministry of Public Security. That’s a separate system from the online sites on this page, and it gives an online player no protection at all.

If you want a European regulator, look for a Malta Gaming Authority licence. The MGA runs a public licensee register and a formal complaint form. None of the fourteen sites on this page holds one, so our MGA casinos list is the place to start.
