Cascading Reels
Like the majority of Megaways™ slots in our list, this game has a special feature where symbols in a winning combination are replaced with new ones without the need for you to spin again. Known as Cascading Reels or Cascading Symbols, this feature is standard within the Megaways™ catalogue of games, but since this can boost your winnings without costing you any extra coins, it’s always worth mentioning!
Scrooge Cash Re-spins
When you land five or more scatter Symbols (the ones with the circular blue motif framed by a golden border) on the grid, you will receive three re-spins. During these re-spins, the scatter symbols will lock into place, and any new scatter symbols that fall on the grid during the re-spins will firstly reset the number of re-spins (i.e. you get an extra three re-spins) and also not budge for the duration of the feature.
The base scatter symbols will also come with multipliers that can reach the value of over 60x your stake, while the other three scatter symbols in the game (characterised by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future) award you 10x, 25x, and 50x your stake, respectively.
The aim of this bonus is to get as many scatter symbols (of any kind) on the grid, so it will end either once you have used up all your re-spins or once you manage to fill up the grid with scatter symbols. In the first scenario, the multipliers of each scatter will be added up for your win; while in the second scenario, the number of scatter symbols will be calculated and each multiplier on the grid will be increased by that number.
Bonus Buy Feature
Of course, the feature above happens very rarely during the base game, but users in many European countries and beyond will be able to buy into the Scrooge Cash Re-Spins through the Bonus Buy feature. In this instance, players will need to pay 50x their bet to guarantee that this bonus is triggered. Due to a UK Gaming Commission regulation, this feature is not available to UK residents.

These symbols are the lowest paying, and you’ll need to get at least three in a winning combination to receive a rather small payout that ranges from 0.1x your stake for three 9s all the way to 1.5x your stake for six As.
Then there are the themed symbols, which are the ball & chain, the Christmas turkey, the top hat, and Scrooge himself. These pay slightly higher rates, up to 2x, 2.5x, 5x, and 25x your stake respectively, when you line up six of them.
Finally, there are the five special symbols in the game. The Wild (which says ‘Wild’ on it) replaces all other symbols on the grid apart from the scatter symbols. The main scatter is there to trigger the re-spins, and you’ll need to land at least five of these to enter the Scrooge Cash Re-spins Feature, during which you can also land the past scatter (green-hooded ghost), the present scatter (blue-hooded ghost), and the future scatter (pink-hooded ghost). These final three scatters act as 10x, 25x, and 50x multipliers, respectively.
