Macau Follows Las Vegas Footsteps by Offering eSports

Macau eSportseSports is getting a lot of popularity in the recent times, and there is an astronomical rise in its fame in a short period. Macau and Las Vegas are now making a dedicated approach to get a more significant share of eSports from the gaming market.

Las Vegas was the first that took the critical step by welcoming eSports into its state. The popularity and fan following of eSports tournament in this gaming capital of the world has seen an unexpected growth in the last two years.

Earlier in this year, Luxor Casino inaugurated eSports Arena Las Vegas which is owned by Allied eSports and is a joint venture with China-based gambling companies. The eSports operator has the single objective which is to build a secure network of eSports arena throughout different systems thereby making it a mainstream sport.

The new venue has already become quite popular, and its tickets are selling like hot cakes. It comes as no surprise that shortly a majority of Las Vegas casinos would start making provisions for the eSports facilities to players concerned.

Just like Las Vegas, Macau seems to follows its footstep by opening its door to eSports operators by hosting 2018 League of Legends Master Series (LMS) Spring-Fall. IT is a joint event by an online gaming operator named Garena at Studio City Macau, and it would operate by Melco Resorts and Entertainment. It is going to be the most significant event involving eSports, and it is likely that more than 2000 would attend the show.

eSports Likely to Start in Macau Soon

Melco is all set to introduce the eSports industry in Macau and is working hard to throw a red carpet welcome. This casino operator has renovated the central Studio City Event Center that would work as eSports arena. The overhaul process is quite tricky than it appears because proper planning and setup have to complete for connectivity and computer screens.

Geoff Andres who is the Property President of Studio City Macau at Melco Resorts and Entertainment made the following statement:

We are always looking for fresh ideas to diversify the entertainment experience offered to our guests. In recent years, we have kept a close track of the increasing demand in Asia for new and unique tech-based entertainment, where eSports is now a fast-growing and major segment.

We are excited by this partnership with Garena to bring the Legends Master Series Spring Final to Macau for the first time, where the event has raised the bar for destination sporting events in Cotai.

It is hopeful that Melco Entertainment would be joining hands with Garena for launching the eSports arena in Macau.
