Crown Melbourne Embroiled with Pokie Tampering Evidence

Melbourne Crown CasinoThe problems of Crown Resorts do not seem to stop and there is no respite from allegations and criticism. Recently the casino operator found itself in murkier water as new evidence has come up that supports past allegations. According to the new evidence, there is clear proof that Crown Melbourne Casino had tampered with Pokie Machines at its casino.

A brand new witness was featured this week by independent MP Andrew Wilkie. Two new hard pieces of evidence were produced that clearly supports previous allegations of pokie tampering claim against Crown Casino.

The witness who wished to remain anonymous was a former high roller regular at this land-based casino site.

The witness said that she had tampered with the pokie machine buttons and casino had presented her with several loyalty cards by Crown Melbourne.

This hard evidence is a strong proof to the earlier allegations tabled by Wilkie to federal parliament in 2017 where a video confession was shown about 3 earlier staff members of Crown Casino who recounted instances where they had tampered with pokie machines and indulged in illegal gambling activities.

All the allegations raised by Wilkie and the whistleblower are denied by Crown Melbourne. The casino is now in a further embarrassing situation as they need to come up with something better to deny these allegations. This evidence is damaging the overall reputation of the casino and Wilkie is protesting to strip off the gambling license of Crown Casino.

Wilkie while talking to the media made the following statement:

Now these are very serious allegations. Obviously, if they're true, Crown Casino will have some very serious matters to answer, some very serious charges to answer because it is a crime in Victoria to illegally modify poker machines. It is a crime in Victoria to provide a patron with some sort of device to allow the machine to continuously play.

Crown’s Reputation Damaged by Hard Evidences

The anonymous hard roller who came up with the hard evidence said that she was asked to jam the buttons of the pokie machines so that they would keep playing without the punter having the need to press any buttons. According to Wilkie, tampering of pokie machines by any means is illegal in Victoria and he has personally requested the Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation (VCGLR) to take strict actions against the casino provider in this regard.

Earlier an investigation was launched by the VCGLR gaming commission against Crown Casino and the casino was found guilty of manipulating the pokie machines. According to Crown, they were doing some test runs and hence it was not reported to the gaming commission. The casino has to come up with a strong and convincing statement in order to deny the allegations of pokie machine tampering.
